Function:

To respond to enquiries, sell and organise bookings for venues in the UK.

Role Overview:

As a Sales Consultant you will respond to enquiries that are generated by phone, email and the website and assist clients in booking all elements of their golf break.

You will be expected to provide a consultancy service to your clients and have an in depth venue knowledge to effectively identify the most suitable venue for your customer.
In this role you will provide the first point of contact for our clients and as such must emulate the values of the company. Having experienced rapid growth in the past ten years, we truly understand that employing the right people, who enjoy talking about golf as much as our clients do, is the key to success.

This role will involve close contact with customers, suppliers and colleagues and will require you to undertake certain administrative duties to ensure that customer expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

The sale of golf breaks through the website and brochure. This involves:

  • Phone calls (receiving calls from clients and venues, making calls to clients and venues)
  • Emails (quotes to clients and communication with the venues)
  • Calculating costs & preparing package quotes
  • Chasing and taking payments from Clients and managing your customer accounts
  • Confirming all bookings with venues through fax backs
  • Collecting customer feedback and where necessary dealing with any problems quickly and efficiently
  • Anticipating problems and dealing with them pro-actively
  • Managing workflow and notating bookings in such a way that another team member can cover your work in your absence
  • Dealing with amendments to booking details where necessary (amending tee times, amending group numbers and resending confirmations)
  • Providing an after sales service to clients by organising any ‘extras’, such as booking golf buggies, reserving car parking, liaising with clients about dinner preferences and pre-ordering on their behalf, as well as collating rooming lists and forwarding to relevant venues.

Training will be provided on venues and sales techniques. You will be required to attend weekly meetings, venue presentations and occasionally visit the venues themselves.

Golfbreaks.com prides itself on the service it provides to its clients, and this position is therefore central to achieving these high standards. As well as providing a sales role, you will be responsible for managing customer and supplier relationships and dealing with issues confidently and efficiently. You should adopt a proactive attitude to the role and be able to use your initiative to solve arising issues. Managing customer expectations is key and should be your main objective in dealing with any problems that occur.

Being in a frontline, customer focused environment, quick service, good communication skills and knowledge are crucial. We are looking for enthusiastic, personable and well-organised people who work well in a team. A passion for golf will assist you in this role to build rapport with our clients, but more importantly, a sense of urgency and positive attitude is essential to succeed in this very rewarding role.
