Unilever has the impact it does because of its people. HR is considered a core rather than a support function, playing a role in shaping business strategy. Within HR you will help to create an environment where all of the people in our huge and varied culture can bring their range of skills and goals to best use: for us and for them.

About the role

What will I be doing?
Supporting the wellbeing and championing the success of the 173,000 people working for us worldwide. We need HR people who are insightful and inspired to develop colleagues and the capabilities required for our winning business. Wherever you’re based in the business, you will gain experience of driving culture change, managing employee relations, developing talented individuals and leaders, turning around the performance of teams and much more. It’s all about shaping our organisation from within.

What do we look for
People skills are essential. The role of HR in Unilever as a core strategic business area means we look for people with an interest in business and the courage to offer creative insights and execute change. Individuals who are able to build relationships and have a talent in influencing and negotiation go a long way. No specific qualification is required.

Students must have completed a minimum of two years of a degree and be returning to study after their placement.

Our Customer Management Summer and Industrial Placements are a chance to showcase your thinking and skills, with total support from a line manager and a buddy. Students who successfully pass our Summer Placement programme will be fast-tracked to the final stage of the selection process for the UFLP programme – the assessment centre. Students who successfully pass our Industrial Placement programme will be offered a place on our Future Leaders Programme. We also have excellent benefits to support you through your placement including a salary of £18,500, 20 days annual leave and online training.
