The Role

We’re looking for a Project Support Assistant to work within our Change Management and IT team, based in Brighton on the South Coast. You’ll take over from our existing Industrial Placement student, supporting the project delivery of Bupa International’s Technology and Change Management programmes. You’ll work with colleagues across all areas of the Bupa International business to:

  • Offer assistance to IT and Business Project Management teams, Business Analysts as well as the Portfolio Management Office at Bupa International.
  • Support business-wide teams in achieving the delivery of key projects and process improvements.
  • Provide senior project managers and the head of delivery with specific support in the planning and control of IT delivery projects.
  • Act as the link between the Bupa International Portfolio Management Office and IT functions in reporting and communications.
  • Provide overview and involvement in the full lifecycle of business projects in a growing international operation.

The role is non technical, but will develop into providing support to Development Managers within Bupa International.

Your Responsibilities

On a daily basis, you can expect to take part in the following:

  • Assistance with current Bupa International delivery projects.
  • Project planning to work stream level.
  • Resource planning across the IT function.
  • Collaboration with the Portfolio Management Office to assist the governance of projects across programmes.
  • Responsible for the management of the IT portfolio within our Project Portfolio Management tool, reflecting live updates from project managers
  • Responsible for small projects that will be allocated to the Project Support Assistant, who must self manage.
  • Meeting co-ordination and administration for specific projects.
  • Financial analysis of spend vs. budget across the IT functions, as well as reporting on other key issues.
  • Collation and dissemination of weekly project/portfolio reports.
  • Collation and dissemination of monthly Change and IT directorate reports
  • Other Ad-hoc analysis which enables the candidate to gain an insight of how our large organisation runs.
  • Collaboration with UK Business Services to enable accurate and aligned reporting of our activity.
Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone with the following qualifications, training and experience:

  • Second year university students on line for a minimum of a 2:1 in a business or management based degree.
  • Ideally having an understanding of PRINCE2 project management and Agile methodologies from your course.
  • Strong MS-Excel skills
  • Basic MS-Project and MS-Visio skills.
  • A proactive self-starter who can work with appropriate levels of supervision, proactively seeking guidance when needed.
  • A Team Player- you will need to interact effectively across the Change and IT supply chain.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential; you will liaise with senior management and other international teams.
  • A confident and enthusiastic individual with an inquisitive and personable nature.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
