The Role
INDUSTRIAL STUDENT PLACEMENTS
POSITION: IT DEPARTMENT
REF: ISP13IT01
We’re looking for 2 undergraduates to join our IT Helpdesk supporting our users based in Milton Keynes. Working on the helpdesk you will support, maintain and optimise our internal systems. You’ll need to be highly analytical with excellent problem solving IT skills. The ability to communicate effectively is a pre-requisite, as you’ll be dealing with a variety of people at different levels across the business. In return you will gain experience in a range of services and technologies
The main accountabilities of the roles are:
- Help answer calls/emails and enter them into our call logging system.
- Create network and email accounts for new users
- Image computers for new starters
- Software installations
- Basic hardware troubleshooting
- Assist with the Windows 7 planning and roll out
- Assist with inventory management of software, hardware and other IT suppliers
- Assist with network patching and any other Ad Hoc projects running
The placement will be for 1 year, starting in the Summer of 2013.
Candidates should be studying towards Information Systems or a related degree.
