On a route-based year in industry placement, you’ll gain a breadth of experience that will give you an insight into what we do while maximising and nurturing your professional talents. You’ll also have the chance to learn from some of the most highly respected professionals in the industry.

As our organisation is so large and varied, we’re geographically split into eight autonomous routes. You’ll be based in one of them.

You can choose from a range of roles, including:

  • Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical/Electronic)
  • Finance
  • General Management

Varied training and development

You’ll take on real responsibility from day one, growing as part of a team while developing core business skills. You’ll learn through on-the-job experiences, as well as classroom based courses held at our state-of-the-art leadership and development centre. You’ll also benefit from exposure to diverse business disciplines - from Project Management and Business Planning to Data Analysis, People Management and Business Improvement.

Ready for a Network Unlimited?

For Civil Engineering, you’ll need to be studying a degree accredited by the ICE (the Institution of Civil Engineers).

For Electrical and Electronic Engineering, you’ll need to be studying an accredited degree from the IET (the Institution of Engineering and Technology).

For Mechanical Engineering, you’ll need to be studying a degree accredited by IMechE (the Institution of Mechanical Engineers).
