About Mace
Mace offers a full range of programme management services. We act as an independent and trusted advisor to clients on issues such as strategy, planning and execution through to project controls and risk management.
We have built our programme management capability over 25 years and in 2013 we established our major programmes and infrastructure division to bring together expertise from across the company.
We have made it our priority to integrate this wide range of professional disciplines under the One Mace Worldwide principle. We will always strive to deliver a seamless service to our clients and stakeholders across the world.
About the role
As a graduate trainee in project controls you will be involved in gathering and analysing data from a diverse range of sources from projects within programmes. Your main responsibility will be to report on the progress of your projects’ performance and assist our teams in making recommendations to effect decision making based on the information you collect. You will gain experience in a wide range of areas such as planning, budgeting, cost management, change control, and risk management.
About the Programme
On the job learning is a key element of the industrial placement programme and students will work full-time on interesting projects with the support of experienced professionals. There is also the option to start working towards professional chartership during the placement year.
After the programme
After completing the 12 month placement, students return to university with a greater understanding of the industry, working life and their specialist field. Students who perform well on their placements will be offered a place on the Graduate Development Programme subject to achieving a 2.1 degree. High performers may also be offered sponsorship during their final year at university.
The vast majority of our placement students return to Mace on completion of their degree to complete the graduate development programme. 100% of 2012 and 2013 industrial placements joined the graduate development programme after graduating in 2014 and 2015.
Minimum Requirements
- Studying a degree in a construction-related discipline showing potential to achieve a 2.1 or higher. Non-construction-related degrees will be considered for the Project Controls role.
- 240 UCAS points achieved from 3 A Levels (excluding general studies)

- Evidence of having undertaken challenging work experience and/or substantial extra-curricular activity
