Software Test Intern, 2016 (8 weeks)

“I have been at Redgate for three years, and still face new challenges every day. Testing wasn’t something I was aware of during my time at University, it was only when I realised my skills matched what Redgate was looking for that I applied; I’ve been enjoying the role ever since!” Jose Lima, Software Test Engineer

What we are looking for

Redgate is looking for two software test interns to help deliver quality applications that our customers love.

Testers at Redgate are an integral part of our high quality, high performing agile development teams. Critical thinking, observation, idea generation, reporting, risk analysis, exploration, and experimentation are just a few of the underlying skills required to be a tester in a context-centric agile environment and are skills we value in our testers.

Working as part of a cross-functional development team, you’ll get the opportunity to work on real features and experience what it’s like to develop software, including the design, implementation, and testing of features. The team will mentor and support you through your internship, work with you to complete tasks and projects, and make sure you have a fantastic time.

What we'll offer you

  • A chance to work with an experienced development team.
  • We’ll make you understand the differences between automated checks and testing.
  • The opportunity to apply systems thinking and problem solving skills in real products and services.
  • We’ll help you experience a huge number of different testing techniques.
  • We’ll give you the opportunity to make your opinion count and let you tell us what you think about bugs or issues found.
  • We’ll let you pair with other testers and developers, so you can also develop your coding skills if you wish.

What makes you Redgate’s next product support intern?

  • You have a passion for software and software testing.
  • You have a profound understanding of the value of teamwork.
  • You’re at least a year into your university degree, studying a relevant discipline.
  • You have an excellent academic record or you have demonstrable technical aptitude.
  • You enjoy learning about new products and the way they work, despite some university curricula not covering software testing.

What’s the package?

  • You’ll be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours
  • You’ll receive £380 per week
  • You’ll start in June or July for a minimum of ten weeks over the summer holiday
  • You’ll get some great Redgate benefits, including:
    • A relaxed and professional environment
    • No dress code
    • Free parking
    • Free breakfast and lunch
