About IBM
IBM's LEADing to Africa internship program has been designed to give you every opportunity to excel. IBM are ultimately looking for future leaders in Africa, and are therefore hiring interns into IBM UK for 12 month placements. You would start as an IBM UK University Placement Student, completing a 12 month assignment in the UK which will provide you with the experience, skills and contacts you need to start the career you want, at one of the most successful companies in history. If you perform well during your internship, we would consider you for a range of Graduate opportunities in IBM Africa when you have completed your final year of studies. Please note the internship is unlikely to include travel to Africa.

Our LEADing to Africa internships offer a range of first-class opportunities where you'll be challenged on a daily basis with exciting work, real projects and real responsibility- all from day one. IBM UK’s placement scheme provides roles for students to become familiar with IBM’s organization, work style, culture and global reach. Students completing this placement have expressed interest in working in Africa if such a position is offered after completion of the internship program and their studies. We are currently recruiting UK interns onto this scheme into a variety of Business and Technical roles.
What we look for
To begin with you should be interested completing a graduate role in Africa and completing an internship in the UK. You should be interested in taking a year out as part of your degree and to be on target for at least a 2:1 in your honours degree. Whilst you don’t need a specific degree background to apply, you do need to be enthusiastic, with plenty of energy and passion for the areas of our business that you’re applying for. Never fear, if you haven’t studied business or IT, we’re all about the person, not about their background.
University Placements are for a minimum of 1 year and must form part of your degree - normally prior to the final year of study. University Placements run from June/July 2016 for 12 months.
Your degree subject – any, but you’ll need to show a keen interest in business and getting to grips with how a large organisation like IBM works.
