About GVI

Global Vision International is an international multi-award winning organisation focused on running high impact programs in the fields of environmental research, conservation, education, and community development. We have been working towards creating and operating sustainable volunteer programs for more than 16 years. Over the years GVI’s project partners have included reputable names such as Save the Children, Project AWARE, Jane Goodall, PADI, DAN (Diver's Alert Network), WWF Mexico, WWF Kenya, and SANParks.

We are committed to our mission and most of our staff are ex-volunteers who are dedicated and passionate about making a difference. GVI internships create a platform for interns to live a more globally aware and fulfilling life while gaining invaluable work experience. These career development opportunities are built on the basis of responsible travelling and outstanding training. A GVI internship will kick-start your career and allows you to explore a new lifestyle and culture. Be ready to set yourself apart for a bright future and successful career!

About the internship

There are countless children who grow up in disadvantaged communities around the world, and Mexico is no different. GVI works alongside a Save the Children centre in the vibrant city of Playa del Carmen, surrounded with spectacular white beaches and bustling with cultural activities and inspiring historical sights.

Interns work with children in need and the internship is developed in such a way that interns are exposed to a variety of different tasks and skills, enabling them to become more well-rounded individuals with greater skills to offer in the education industry. The internship is geared at developing interns’ teaching techniques, classroom management and lesson planning. These skills are key elements in creating a safe and supportive environment for the children to learn and play in, away from substance abuse and violence. Interns will be appointed a dedicated mentor who will assist them during this outstanding learning process.

Benefits

Interns will gain world-class experience and GVI offers a great opportunity for interns to be considered for work placement after successfully completing the internship. These teaching placements range in duration and can be paid or unpaid.

Our interns typically receive work placements with GVI or selected partner organisations in Mexico, or other countries around the world where GVI operate. Accommodation, meals, and training are included as part of the internship and together with the leadership and support of a mentor, interns are guaranteed to enjoy an enriching learning experience.
