Online Communications Intern

This role provides online communications support to the Online Centre of Expertise within the UK Communications and Government Affairs team. The post holder is tasked with promoting clear, consistent and integrated communications with customers and other external stakeholders through the website, email marketing and external social media as well as encouraging appropriate use of social media channels to promote Siemens.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Work with our stakeholders to understand the personas of our target audience groups, what they would search for on the web and define and measure appropriate conversions from site visits
  • Maintain UK content and topic areas on our external website
  • Support events with event websites and email campaigns using Eloqua marketing automation
  • Support the Online Communications and Digital PR manager on the SiemensUKNews, Twitter and Facebook accounts
  • Assist with support and training in using social media, especially the Siemens Social Network, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+
  • Support with monitoring the effectiveness of the external online communications channels using tools such as Omniture and Brandwatch
  • Ensure content is written and presented optimally for online and for search
  • Review and test web content
  • Adhere to Siemens brand standards in all activities

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • A degree in a related subject i.e. E-commerce, Journalism, History or Language
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Experience in content creation (writing and editing stories, presentations) and a keen interest in online communications technologies
  • Openness to learning new IT tools and content management systems – full training provided
  • Experience with publishing online content and using a variety of social media platforms
  • Experience with a graphics package, such as Photoshop Elements to create web banners
  • Familiarity with html, xml, video and image formats and advanced MS Office skills

What else do I need to know?

This internship will initially last for a period of 6 months with the possibility that this could be extended for a further 6 months. Siemens offer competitive salaries and an excellent benefits package.
