Trainee Test Analyst

As a Test Analyst, applicants will need to develop and plan appropriate test strategies for IT projects and systems enhancements for Howdens’ Trade, Supply and Corporate Services. They will need to design test plans for all levels of testing, based on functionality, regression, usability and performance.

Applicants will need to identify test scope via workshops and meetings with business and IT representatives, as well as identify the business risks to prioritise the testing effort accordingly. They will manage the preparation, execution and defect management processes throughout the testing lifecycle for the project.

The major areas of development within the period of the placement will be

  • Exposure to new technologies and skills
  • Producing documentation, test scripts and specifications as required

Applicants should have an excellent understanding of IT systems, as well as good written and verbal communication. They should be self-motivated, organised and used to working in a structured and timely manner. Applicants will also need to have excellent analytical and time management skills, ability to learn new skills quickly, and adapt their current skills to the differing scenarios they will come across.
