Summer Internship Programme

Our ‘Summer Internship Programme’ runs for 8 weeks (with a start date between 6th June and 11th July 2011), comes with an extremely competitive salary and provides you with hands-on experience within the industry. Hiscox aim to recruit individuals with a view that they will progress into more senior roles within the company in the future (in the UK business 50% of our roles are filled internally) and our internship programme is no different.

We currently have eight vacancies on our ‘Summer Internship Programme’ to fill and we will be accepting applications until Sunday 30th January 2011:

• Art & Private Client Internship – you will support a team of development underwriters working with private clients who wish to insure high value cars, buildings, contents, fine art and jewellery.
• Professions & Specialty Commercial Internship – you will support a team of 6 experienced Underwriting Managers and 75 UK Underwriters.
• Marketing Internship – you will support the team in developing the brand and communication strategies in the UK business.
• Customer Relations Handler Internship – you will support the customer relations team, which reports directly to the UK Chief Operating Officer, in handing a variety of customer complains and concerns.
• Professional Indemnity Claims Internship – you will support a team of 12 claims handlers working in the professional indemnity division, covering professionals such as accountants, architects, solicitors and IT consultants.
• Risk Modelling Internship – you will support a team who analyse the threat posed by natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, hurricanes & floods so they can advise our underwriters of the risk involved in a policy.
• Actuary Internship – you will support the Actuarial team and gain exposure as a non-life actuary within a corporate environment.
• IT Internship – you will support the group IT team providing analysis and solutions on a variety of business as usual work and IT projects.
