Do I need a degree in Economics or Maths to work at Deutsche Bank?
It’s a common misconception that to work at an Investment Bank requires a degree in Economics, Maths or some other quantitative degree.
We welcome applications and hire from all degree disciplines. We want our people to have a variety of perspectives, see beyond the obvious, bring new ideas and ask the extra question.
Our graduates need to be numerically competent but a financial or mathematical background is not necessary.
Our training programs cover much of the technical knowledge required and prepare successful graduates for a career with us.
News & Awards
Deutsche Bank has ranked No.1 for a number of awards in recent months, most notably ‘Best Global Investment Bank’ in Euromoney Magazine’s annual Awards for Excellence 2010. In addition, ‘Best Derivatives House’ in The Asset Magazine and No.1 in the Risk Interdealer Rankings for the second year in a row.
Deutsche Bank becomes anchor investor in Social Enterprise Investment Fund
Big Issue Invest is the Big Issue’s specialist provider of finance to social enterprises, and Deutsche Bank has participated in this £3m first tranche as an anchor investor.
Colin Grassie, CEO of Deutsche Bank in the UK, explains why the Bank was keen to be an early mover in social investments: “Deutsche Bank views social investments as a sustainable and intelligent way to build on our existing CSR activities in the UK, and we are eager to bring our core skills in the capital markets to this growing asset class.”
He said that he admired the Big Issue brand and felt the fund had great potential, adding, “We see a tremendous ability to make an impact. This cornerstone investment is a step in the right direction.”
Social investments sit somewhere between charitable donations and funds that purely maximise financial returns, and their attractiveness lies in the way they can create long-term benefits for the communities involved, whilst creating a sustainable flow of funds in years to come.
