GCHQ – Company Profile

GCHQ is a key part of the UK’s intelligence and security service, working with MI5 and MI6 to counter threats to Britain. GCHQ’s work is quite distinct from our partner agencies, and falls into two key areas: Signals Intelligence and Information Assurance. Our customers include government agencies and commercial organisations. We employ over 5,000 people, and our HQ is in Cheltenham.

The role

As one of the UK’s intelligence agencies, every day is different on our summer and year-long placement schemes. And there are even more chances to take on practical challenges this year with the launch of our Summer Undergraduate Maths Scheme (SUM) alongside our Sponsored Student Scheme (SSS). So if you’ve got the skills to help fight international terrorism and crime, we can offer you the experience. To apply you must be a British citizen and an undergraduate studying for your first degree in maths, computer science, information technology, software engineering, electronic engineering, telecommunications or related disciplines.
