About Red Gate
Red Gate makes ingeniously simple software used by 650,000 IT professionals working with SQL Server, Azure, .NET, and Oracle. More than 100,000 companies use our products, including 93% of the Fortune 100. Our philosophy is to design highly usable, reliable tools which elegantly solve the problems that developers and database administrators face every day. We’re privately owned and employ about 300 people in Cambridge, Pasadena, and Singapore. We’ve been repeatedly recognised as one of the UK’s best overall, graduate and placement employers, and are officially the UK’s best software development workplace of our size. Working at Red Gate
People at Red Gate will tell you that we offer a genuinely different working environment from most companies. Red Gate is relaxed, informal and fun yet will challenge you to do the best work of your life. Our modern, open plan offices are built for collaboration, creativity and productivity. We have flexible working hours, no dress code and on-site perks which simply make life easier (and a 3D printer, just for fun). Our values based culture helps us do the right thing for our customers and colleagues; from being reasonable with one another to the often quoted ‘no asshole’ rule. We welcome open discussions and free flowing ideas and champion learning and continuous improvement. Every team has different challenges and we think they should be the ones to decide the specifics of how they work. But we believe passionately in the benefits of an agile approach, strong technical practices and learning from each other about what works and what doesn’t.We’re very proud to have been awarded the Best Use of Agile in the Private Sector in the 2012 UK Agile Awards. Joining us as a Software Intern
As a Red Gate Software Intern you’ll have a real job doing great work from day one. Each year we hire a number of interns to work in real project teams developing our products and services. We’ve got about a dozen teams building new products, improving mature products and building our internal systems and infrastructure that will underpin our new services. Creating great products needs a wide range of skills, which is why we believe in small, highly-collaborative cross-functional teams. You’ll work with the best software engineers, testers, user experience specialists and technical authors around; you’ll learn from them and they’ll learn from you. We invest in our intern managers, giving them all the training and support they need to help you make the most of your placement. When the Summer’s up, whatever you’ve been working on will be completed by your colleagues – your work will go on to delight our customers and make a difference.
Don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what Chirayu Shishodiya, a 2013 intern (and now a Red Gate Software Engineer) has to say: “Red Gate is THE place to learn how to develop software that leads to happy customers. An internship here offers you the opportunity to grow as a software developer and there are things you learn here that you easily overlook whilst at university.”
Simple recruitment process
Our philosophy of simplicity extends to our recruitment process too. There are no application forms or assessment centres and you’ll be interviewed by Developers.
