About Autodesk

As a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, Autodesk helps people imagine, design, and create a better world. Autodesk accelerates better design through an unparalleled depth of experience and a broad portfolio of software to give customers the power to solve their design, manufacturing, business, and environmental challenges.

Customers across the manufacturing, architecture, building, construction, and media and entertainment industries (including the last 21 Academy Award winners for Best Visual Effects) use Autodesk software to bring their ideas to life. In addition, Autodesk helps students, educators, and casual creators unlock their creative ideas through user-friendly applications.

Our staff cover all the disciplines necessary to develop, market, sell and support our software around the world. While most are graduates, they come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. The thing they have in common is the ability and enthusiasm to take on challenging problems and solve them, as part of a team committed to the further success of the company.

As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we are always looking for talented and ambitious individuals across all of our activities, both within our UK division but also across the global network of offices. Whether you are newly qualified or already have a successful track record in your chosen field, you will work in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding.

We offer all the benefits of working in a large, progressive company, including a bonus scheme, private medical cover, company pension scheme, flexible working, and a subsidised canteen. We can also provide the training, both inside the company and externally, that you may need to increase your skills.

However, through our agile team structure we ensure that your contribution is significant and well recognised, plus our sustained growth ensures that there are regular opportunities for promotion and career development.

Our graduate and placement programmes

We established our graduate and placement programmes seven years ago as Delcam plc before becoming part of Autodesk in 2014. Since then both programmes have continued to receive independent acclaim, this year our graduate scheme was awarded 17th place on TheJobCrowd’s top graduate employers list and our placement programme placed 36th in the RateMyPlacement rankings.

Our graduate and placement programmes run side by side at to ensure that all new starters get the training and support they need at the start of their career. We start by providing intensive training; for developers that will be in Autodesk’s primary programming language, C++, and for engineers it will be in our extensive range of CADCAM products.

Following the initial training courses you will begin a series of rotations around the different teams within the company. Developers will gain experience in working in up to five different development teams, growing your knowledge and expertise by working alongside experienced Autodesk software engineers across our broad range of CADCAM products.

Engineers will get the opportunity to rotate around the different departments at Autodesk covering Training, Support, Professional Services, and Product Marketing. Again maximising the range of skills you will learn during your time with us.

For those graduates wishing to work towards professional registration we provide support for Chartered registration with both the IET and IMechE with the help of existing Autodesk Chartered Engineers.

While the majority of our graduate opportunities are based at our recently refurbished UK office in Birmingham, as an international company with offices in over 100 countries opportunities for travel soon arise for those that are interested.

For all disciplines you will get experience of working on real world projects from your very first rotation, putting it bluntly, at Autodesk we’ve got too many exciting new opportunities and projects to just have our graduates making the tea!
