Placement (10 Months+)

What was the application process like?

Applying was very easy. Unlike many large companies, it wasn’t a lengthy online application; you just emailed a CV and cover letter to apply. If your application was successful you then had a phone interview followed by an assessment day.

How well organised was the internship set up?

The organisation of the placement was excellent. The initial training period for the first month was exceptional. Everything was covered and made me very prepared for starting by myself in the sales role. We also had regular training sessions and one-to-ones with our manager throughout the placement.

How much responsibility were you given during your placement/internship?

I was given as much responsibility as every other full time member of the sales team. Once you build up the confidence and learn the product, the managers leave you to accomplish on your own. Yes they are there if need be, but you don’t have your hand held all year and aren’t prevented from achieving more just because you are on your placement.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement/internship?

My placement has been fantastic. It isn’t just what I have done, accomplished and learnt, but also the people I’ve met and experiences I have had. It is a young company that rewards success and praises placement students. Hiring past placements in full time roles post uni is a great thing too.

Would you want to return to work full time at Golfbreaks and if so, why?

I would definitely like to return to Golfbreaks. To get further full time experience would be fantastic. The company is expanding and growing within its market place so the opportunities would be great. The chance to develop further knowledge and flourish within the company is a huge incentive. I’d love to return to a place I have thoroughly enjoyed.
