Tuesday – Networking on the London Eye then GenYus Enterprise week Launch!
After attending Kings College Careers Fair, we are attending a Make Your Mark networking event in the afternoon which takes us up in the London Eye! Let’s hope for fun and interesting people in our egg otherwise it could be a long 45 minutes…
In the evening we’re then attending the pre launch of a new charity named ‘genYus’ which aims to support young people to enhance their careers and networking skills. Amongst the guest speakers are internet entrepreneur Sháá Wasmund, best known for being the whiz kid who helped build the Dyson brand and Shed Simove who has had a highly successful career in television production working on such shows as The Big Breakfast, Space Cadets and Big Brother.

Wednesday – Our Big Event! An evening with the Peter Cruddas Entrepreneur of the Year 2007!
When you think of Entrepreneur called Peter you probably think about the oversized Dragon, but Peter Cruddas’ personal wealth is a few hundred million pounds more than Mr Jones’. On Wednesday we have been invited by the Vice-Chancellor of Loughborough University to listen to a presentation and then dine with Peter at Loughborough. It should be a quality evening, and a good chance to meet a man who has really made it. In case you didn’t know anything about him…
“Peter Cruddas is a East End boy who left school at 16 headed toward the City of London and made it good. When he was 35 he took £10,000 of his own money and set up CMC Markets, the first online derivatives trading company. Within 20 years CMC markets had offices in 22 countries and clients in over 100 countries. They employ 220 people, 150 working in London where half of them concentrate on software innovation. The Company handles approx 6 million trades per annum with an average value of $2Billion per business day across its product range. The Company has a growth rate of approximately 40% per annum. Until Dec 2007 it was nearly wholly owned by Cruddas (92%) but he recently sold 10% to Goldman Sachs for £140 million.”
