Southampton Uni AIESEC Fair

Months of planning, have now been kicked into action and RMP are officially on the Campus tour for 09/10. We will be updating this blog with all the latest tales from our travels over the coming months, so make sure you check back soon!

Tuesday saw my first visit to an AIESEC fair, which are essentially like normal careers fairs, apart from run by AIESEC — so not much different to what I am used to if I’m honest. The fair was in the Students Union which I have been to a few times however I had to park a country-mile away, and as it was throwing it down, it made for a very wet start to the day.
I was ably assisted by rep Ryan and he did very well manning the stand as I went off for frequent wanders and to make a few important calls (ordering my new iPhone). In the end we got around 100 sign-ups, however I think we can safely say this was rain affected, so did make for a long day.
Anyways, what are the scores George Dawes?
Southampton Total Score 26/70
Overall Ratings
- Food: 7/10. A cold buffet of sandwiches, sausage rolls and chicken legs, not bad at all.
- Freebies: 4/10. Great rubber ducky from QS, that will find its way into my bath.
- Weather: 2/10. p1ssing down, luckily I had the biggest umbrella in the world in my car.
- Beer: 5/10. Again no beer… Did have a mocha from the service station. I chose a mocca over a beer, what is happening to me!!!
- Grounds: 4/10. A bit weird if I’m honest, a big road goes through the middle, no greenery or sports grounds, I am guessing they are somewhere else though.
- Ambience: 2/10. Really quiet in terms of students and actual recruiters, plus it was really long so dragged a bit.
- Bird Watching: 2/10. They must be fair-weather (no pun intended) birds in Southampton.
