NCWE Awards 2007/08

You don’t have to give the RateMyPlacement team much of an excuse to dust off the suit and attend an awards ceremony at a swanky London venue so we naturally jumped at the chance of attending the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) Awards. The awards celebrate the placement and internship employers who are deemed by the judges to offer the best experience to students, something which is clearly close to our heart too.
The event kicked off at Midday with a champagne reception at the Cafe Royal just off Regents Street. Ben and Ali won the game of "Paper, Rock, Scissors" so were lucky enough to get the RateMyPlacement tickets; we also met up with Kevin Storrie from Jagex, who we had nominated for an award due to their consistantly good reviews. The reception was followed by a 3 course meal (a bruschetta, followed by lamb shank with raspberry and chocolate tart for desert; I would give the food a 7/10), and finally the awards themselves. Notable winners were IBM Extreme Blue in the over 250 employees - short term placements (0-3 months) category, Virgin Airlines in the Over 250 employees - long term placements (4-12 months) category and overall winners were Shetland Seafood Auctions.
RateMyPlacement has agreed to offer all nominees in the Under 10 employees category a presence on the website so keep checking back soon to see when they come on board.
